How to perform an ultrasound-guided thoracic wall mass aspirate in a dog | VETgirl Veterinary CE Video

In this VETgirl online veterinary continuing education video, we demonstrate how to perform an ultrasound-guided thoracic wall mass aspirate in a dog. Using ultrasound, one can help differentiate if the mass is a pulmonary mass versus a thoracic wall mass. Careful aspirate can be performed for cytology. After the aspirate, verify there is no significant bleeding with the ultrasound probe once again and continue to monitor for signs of iatrogenic pneumothorax.
