Kaitlyn Nikirk

Kaitlyn is currently a second year veterinary student at Michigan State University with a special interest in avian and exotic animal medicine and surgery. Kaitlyn  is Fear Free Avian Certified, a NYS licensed wildlife rehabilitator, and am working towards her CertAqV.

Kaitlyn is an active participant in professional veterinary organizations such as AAV, ARAV, and AEMV, and serves on the ARAV Legislative and Animal Welfare committee, the AAV Legislative Committee, the AAV Student Committee (student co-chair), and monitors the ARAV student Facebook page.

In the summer of 2020 and 2021, Kaitlyn worked at exotic specialty hospitals under ACZM, ABVP (Reptile/Amphibian), and ABVP (Avian) specialists to gain experience in the field of exotic companion veterinary medicine.

Following graduation, Kaitlyn would love to become  avian boarded and one day own her own practice.

Fun fact about Kaitlyn: “Kaitlyn has coached Competitive Collegiate Ballroom at three Colleges/Universities!”
