How to perform a scrotal neuter in a dog | VETgirl Veterinary Continuing Education Videos

In this VETgirl online veterinary continuing education video, we demonstrate how to perform a scrotal neuter in a dog. While neutering has traditionally been performed in the pre-scrotal area, shelter medicine veterinarians have found good anecdotal success performing scrotal neuters. Thanks to Dr. Graham Brayshaw from the Animal Humane Society in Minnesota for helping with this video!

  1. I’d love to see how you do your closure – continuous or a few interrupted sutures?

Also, if you do have some oozing from the scrotal sac, what do you recommend for hemostasis?

  2. Nice video. I agree with Tori Shenigo–the video should finish with showing us closure. Thanks!
