Corrie McCluskey

CE

Corrie graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Sociocultural Anthropology and later earned a Masters in English (TESOL – Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and a Certificate in Immigrant Literacies. She is an Adjunct Instructor at Santa Rosa Junior College and loves to teach literacy in Spanish and noncredit ESL.

For many years, she was Director of Continuing Medical Education and Coordinator of the CME Program and Workshops at the Institute for the Study of Health and Illness at Commonweal, and Continuing Education Programs Manager at the Remen Institute for the Study of Health & Illness at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.

Corrie is also a visual artist. For 20 years, she shot b&w medium format photography and had images published in the NYT Magazine and other publications, and exhibited in the Netherlands, Germany, New York, and San Francisco. She now works in mixed media including encaustic monotypes, cold wax & oils, ink, graphite, natural pigments, and collage. She is a lifelong visual journaler.

She is also the proud Mom of 1 Abyssinian (Canela) and 2 black cats (Pepe & Emilio). She still loves to explore ancient ruins and travel when there’s time.
