Emily Coffey

Dr. Emily Coffey graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in English Literature prior to attending veterinary school at North Carolina State University. After graduation, she completed a small animal rotating internship at Colorado State University, followed by a small animal internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota. She has a special interest in companion animal infectious diseases, host-pathogen interactions, and the relationship between genetics and immune health. After her residency, she completed a one-year research fellowship in immunogenetics, and she is currently pursuing a PhD investigating the urinary microbiome of dogs and cats. In her free time, Dr. Coffey enjoys nature photography and spending time with her dog, Lucy.
