VETgirl is of the believe that every veterinary clinic out there should have an emergency Aerokat (or AeroDawg) on hand. The reason why? Because in an acutely dyspneic patient, the administration of inhaled medications may often be life-saving and is generally considered benign (safe) as they are not systemically absorbed with appropriate administration.

The AeroKat aerosol chamber is designed to be used with an MDI (e.g., metered dose inhaler) to help deliver aerosol medications (e.g., albuterol, fluticasone) to patents with underlying respiratory disease (e.g., feline asthma, chronic bronchitis, allergic rhinitis, pulmonary fibrosis, etc.). Check out this VETgirl video to learn how to administer inhaled drug therapy.
