One thing to note about the guidewires: Different wire lengths have different measurement demarcations (in 10cm increments).

45cm and 50cm wires have four marks: 1 short line at 10cm and 40cm and 2 short lines at 20cm and 30cm.
*Feed the wire only passed the first double line mark to ensure that it will feed through the whole catheter and extension before insertion.

60cm wires have five marks: 1 short line at 10cm and 50cm, 2 short lines at 20cm and 40cm, and 1 long line at 30cm.
*Feed the wire only to the long mark (at 30cm) to ensure that it will feed through the whole catheter and extension before insertion.

68cm wires have six marks: 1 short line at 10cm and 60cm, 2 short lines at 20cm and 50cm, and long lines at 30cm and 40cm.
**Feed the wire only passed the first long mark (at 30cm) to ensure that it will feed through the whole catheter and extension before insertion.

100cm wires have three marks: 1 short line at 10cm, 2 short lines at 20cm, and 3 short lines at 30cm.
*Feed the wire only passed the three short marks (at 30cm) to ensure that it will feed through the whole catheter and extension before insertion.
