Lee, DVM, DACVECC, DABT we reviewed acute kidney injury (AKI) common urinary tract emergencies in dogs and cats with emphasis on basic pathophysiology, diagnosis and emergency management of these cases. A review of ethylene glycol (EG) toxicosis, feline urethral obstruction (FUO), and uroabdomen was reviewed and presented in a case-oriented manner.

  1. Hi Justine

    A quick question, more so on physiology than anything else.

    What is the physiological reason for a patient (such as Harper) who has been consistently Oligouric/Anuric then beginning to pee by the bucket load and instantly in need of 5L bags. Was it simply a case of the renal tubules having healed and now functioning?

    Any clarification on Harpers case would be amazing.
